Read this book as a kid. Been thinking about it for months. Reread it. Better than I’d remembered. Really uplifting story. Makes you think about the consequences of misunderstanding someone. Very good story.

This book is a waste of time. So strange, and nothing to take from it really. It was quite sad and also so so SO weird. Would Never recommend or read again.

This book wasn’t one that I really enjoyed. It was okay. It did have a better ending than I was expecting, but I don’t think I’d ever read it again.

This book was just okay. The ending was better than I expected. It’s a classic, but I wouldn’t choose to read it.

This book was actually really interesting. Makes you think about what really matters in life (money vs happiness vs truth). Was a short story, but really did make you think.

Okay. So this book was absolutely amazing. It was just what I like in a book, believable but also hopeful. This book is right under 500 pages but I read it in about four days. So good. This author has amazed me with two of his books now. I need to read more from him. AMAZING.

this is another great book by Hugh Prather. This one has a focus on God. but more of a focus on living in the present. very good read.

It was okay, but I didn’t really like this poetry. I’d heard that Billy Collins had really good poetry, so this book was quite disappointing.

Didn’t care for this collection of poetry. Her other collection was better. A few good poems, the rest weren’t great. This book disappointed me.

Cute little poetry book. Very storytelling, but interesting. Really liked a couple of the poems, the others I wasn’t the biggest fan of.

This was a cute poetry book. Simply written. Not super deep, but some that really tell it how it is. A book I can appreciate.

This book was AMAZING! When I started it I was a little scared I wouldn’t finish it (because it’s 725 pages). But those pages honestly went by so fast! This story had some really surprising twists and turns – which I loved (because I can’t stand books where I can guess everything that will happen). This is honestly one of my FAVORITE books I’ve read this year. I would super recommend this story. It was great and I think I’ll read another book by this author next!

Wasn’t the greatest. Only a couple of poems that I liked a lot. The rest of the poems were just okay. But someone else might like it more than I did.

It was okay. Wouldn’t have finished it if it wasn’t for school. Some really interesting parts. Some really boring parts. Some (very) confusing parts. Overall, fine for a school book.

This book was alright. Not the best, but once you get used to the style it goes pretty quick. The chapters are short which helps it go faster. Wouldn’t have chosen this book, but it was alright for a school book (much better than some of the others).

some good poems. not the strongest collection I’ve read, but a few that I really enjoyed. (& one the made me laugh out loud!). probably wouldn’t recommend it, but it was alright anyway!

This book was a lot better than the other books I read for this class. The characters were really well developed and believable. Some of the chapters felt like they went on forever, while other chapters felt way too short. A few things went unexplained that should have probably been explained a bit more. but overall this was a pretty good read.

Okay so when I started this book I wasn’t too sure I’d like it. but then around page 80 it started to get really good! then around page 150 it started getting even better. it had twins, evil spirits, suspense and strong characters. Overall, I’d really recommend the story. (only downside was that the ending was a bit confusing).

This is a very informative book. Lots of facts about history and the present. Not my favorite, but nicely written.

Well, this book fit the same theme as all the other books I’ve read for this class…that theme being “books I really don’t like”. It was boring and repeated the same three ideas over and over for 115 pages. I have no idea what the point of the book was. Maybe something about finding yourself??? Really I don’t know. Hopefully this class will be better than these books have been.

This book is another confusing one, but in a good way this time. It starts off a little boring. But at about halfway through it picks up pace and starts to really say some stuff. It’s a nice little story about a girl trying to find herself by looking at her past. Interesting look into all the parts that make up someone’s life. pretty good for a school book.

This book was really good. It had a bunch of interesting facts and stories (about death and what happens to dead bodies). The author’s youtube channel is really cool too (I’ve been watching her videos for years). Probably not a book for everyone, but I enjoyed reading it and learning about it.

Oh my goodness this book wasn’t one I liked. It’s only one hundred pages, a book I SHOULD have been able to finish in one day…but it took me four days. Not because it was hard to understand, it was a simple book (maybe too simple). It was so boring! – also, it set out to capture a part of history that was ignored, but after reading it all I could tell you is: a bunch of people were killed by the cops for protesting (sounds familiar doesn’t it? The only difference this book takes place in 1960s France). Anyway, I had higher hopes for this book, it had such potential – but it didn’t work out. (oh yeah, I read this one for school – which is the only reason I finished it at all).

This book wasn’t written in a way I could appreciate. It jumped to different events that happened between the 1940s and 1980s. It was awfully confusing. Also, this story could have been told in maybe half the pages. The same event was repeated over and over, which just got on my nerves. Then the ending was so confusing – it was like the author expects readers to make something bigger out of what’s written! If you asked me what this book was about I’d say, “I don’t know, a guy abandons his daughter even though he loves her and her mother. Then the daughter wrote this book??????”. Not to mention that the narration goes from “I…” to “She…” to “His daughter…” all on the same page! I really didn’t like this, but someone else might.

Not a book I would have chosen on my own (read it for school). But it was pretty good. Well written, an interesting story, and followed four characters. An interesting look into emigration and how the choices people make effect their lives.

This book was great! It’s meant for couples; but the idea of living a life of love, compassion and understanding is fitting for anyone (especially right now, it seems). I always enjoy this style of writing – short notes, sort of like a poem or a diary entry. I think I’ll continue coming back to this book, much like Prather’s other books that I’ve read. They just always have something that seems to fit into the life I’m currently living.

This book was actually three short stories (to my surprise). All three were really good…until the last few pages. The first two stories had endings that felt unfinished, especially in comparison to the third story! The third story on the other hand had a great ending, but a less great middle section. Guess it’s one or the other. But it was still a good collection of stories (especially for a school book – I read it for school)!
